I have been a genetic counselor for over 28 years serving patients and providers in all aspects of genetic counseling. Up until January of 2016, I served as the senior genetic counselor at a large hospital where over 14,000 deliveries occur each year. My current position at the Baylor College of Medicine will afford me the opportunity to continue working in a clinical setting, but also develop and direct a genetic counseling training program. I have been active in outreach and community education and served on several committees and organizations (both elected and as a volunteer). I served a two year term on the NSGC (National Society of Genetic Counselors) Board of Directors (2015-2016). I have served on the ABGC Board of Directors and the Florida March of Dimes Board of Directors as well as provided consulting services to a local infertility specialist in the past. I was a member of the Public Affairs Committee for the March of Dimes and have served as a member of the Public Policy Committee for the NSGC. I served as a volunter member of the Florida Birth Defects Registry advisory committee or approximately 10 years before moving to Texas.
